| AHHH! It's been forever!!! You'd think that during break I would have had time to write in this thing... but alas... nope!!! I've been working.. working.. and.. uh... working... le sigh!!! However, there have been some highlights...
#1: Christmas! That is always fun! We went over to our old neighbor's house for Christmas Eve and I got to meet my friend's fiance! Wow! Fiance! That is super exciting to say :) They are getting married in June and I will finally get to go to Montana! WOO HOO!! Christmas was equally exciting as I got a CamelBak among other things and I also got to taste some savory BACON!
#2. NEW YEARS!!! For New Year's I went up to Breckenridge with Chris's family! We went ice-skating, hottubbing and we got to see the fireworks FROM THE HOTTUB! It was so cool! :) Chris and I also went shopping and we bought a delicious crepe!
#3. WIZARD: I am always a fan of getting together w. the HS crew and playing a little wizard!! It was especially awesome this time because we got to eat @ Red Robin and now there is a road trip to Cali in the works!!
#4. USJ DINNER!!! My goodness... how we all have grown... from "you're blossoming as a writer" to world travellers!! It was awesome to hear about all of the exciting places everyone has been since I last saw them and also catching up on everyone's lives!!! Jennie, Scott, Paul, Matt and Zach.... I heart you!!! Bethie and Chang--- we missed you!!!
#5. PEDICURE and J ALEXANDERS!!! Woo hoo! Yesterday we went to get our nails done and I decided to get a pedicure... it was oh so relaxing and my feet are super soft! I am definitely still addicted. My toenails are currently an attractive HOT PINK (obviously). J Alexanders was where my family went for dinner for our last dinner together in 4.5 months or so! My sister is going around the world on Monday!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to get postcards **hint hint** My parents are also leaving tomorrow for their cruise!! Ooh la la! So Katherine and I are holding down the fort and making sure Colorado doesn't miss the Kerber family.
Anyway- I'm hungry now and my flu shot awaits! :-/

| Done.. Done.. DONE!!!
YESSSSS!!! Only two more classes to go until THANKSGIVING BREAK! A whole week of doing absolutely nothing... well... except for the million papers my teachers assigned! Oh well... such is life and nothing will stop me from being ecstatic about NO SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAHOO!
In other happy news, I finished my thesis the other day!!! 41 pages.... 3 graphs... 3 charts... a cover page and a partridge in a pear tree! ;) I was wandering around in the Weber building and I somehow ended up in the Stats computer lab. Luckily, John was there or I wouldn't have been able to get on the computers cuz I didn't know the password! It is so funny how I just randomly found him. I guarantee you that if I HAD to find him-- I never would have thought to look there! Anyway-- I finished at 9:57 PM (the lab closes at 10!) and I printed out 82 pages.... for free... That is one thing that I am definitely thankful for! ;)
Then I got in my car and raced over to Kinko's to get it bound. The guy at the counter was like "Hmm... interesting topic!!! Are you a Republican or Democrat" Dun dun dun... danger time-- don't wanna make the guy who is binding your life's work (ok... semester's work) angry... however-- when in doubt, I always figure it is best to go for the truth! So I was like "Um.. I'm a Republican!" and he was like "Alright!!! Me too!!!" So we talked about the election while he bound two copies of my thesis with cardstock AND plastic covering. It was wayyyy professional. So when he rang it up and it was only $7.34, I was like "YES! That is way cheaper than I thought it would be!" and he said "Well- that's because I didn't charge you for the plastic covers because you are a Republican." SCORE! I knew it would come in handy someday! After all the afternoons of being made fun of and argued with in journalism... being chased by a white van while putting up Bush signs... all the polite conversations I've had to sit quietly through with crazy Democrats just cuz they were adults.... this was my reward! $7.00 off at Kinko's... and boy does it feel good!
The girl next in line didn't fare so well. The guy asked her, "So what do you need done?" Girl: "The same thing as her!" Kinko's Guy: "Oh! So are you a Republican or a Democrat?" Girl: "A Democrat" Kinko's Guy: "Uh oh! Looks like you'll have to pay double!!!" Girl: "Do I get any discounts because I lost?!" Kinko's Guy: "Hmm... good point...."
At this point I left with my two huuuuuge theses in hand and 7 extra dollars in my pocket!
Alrighty-- time for my NEXT TO LAST CLASS BEFORE BREAK!!!!!

| First of all... I am now 22!!!!!!!!!!
Now... on to the election... The vandals have struck again... My roommate, boyfriend and I encountered them first hand as we ran around Fort Collins putting up signs for various candidates from 12-2 AM. We finally finished putting signs on all of Drake street when we started driving back and realized that someone had taken them ALL down and thrown them in fields, bushes and in the grass. We had to retrace our steps and put them ALL back up. C'mon people.... so you want someone else to win? That's fine by me-- why don't you do something PRODUCTIVE. You could put up signs for your candidates, walk precincts or make phone calls. Today I got the chance to see just how "open-minded" and "classy" some Democrats are. As we finished putting up our last sign, a guy in a white van drove by and swore at us and then turned around and chased our car. What... is... wrong... with... people?! How is that productive? I might put up signs for my candidates, but you will NEVER see me tearing down other people's signs or yelling swear words at a person I don't agree with. That's because I think there are more important things than winning an election... I think conducting a campaign with dignity, honor and class is far more rewarding than vandalizing the hard work of other people just because you don't have the diligence or integrity to do your own work.
